This painting symbolizes confusion. In life, we all experience confusion. We get problems in our life that confuses us and make us wonder why we are here, or even why these things are happening to us. During my process in creating this, I was in a stage in my life that was causing great frustration for me. That was my inspiration for this project. The straight lines represent the calm times and the swirls represent the times you experience confusion.

This is my story-telling piece. The story I wanted to tell as an artist and a bullying victim, was that words do hurt. People may think it's funny because it was "just a joke," but they don't understand the victim's point of view. They feel like a target. People point out others flaws and insecurities and make jokes about them. It is not something to make friends over. Bullying is something that hurts people and sometimes kills them. The worse part is, is that some of these words, we hear from people who say "I love you."

I have had many of piercings in the past. Some are my nose, my lip, and I have stretched my ears. I love body jewelry. So, my love for piercings was my inspiration. Surprisingly, while making these pieces I used my fingers more than I used the pliers. I love music, so I created one in the shape of a treble clef. I wanted spider bites for the longest time so I created one that gives the illusion of having them. I also love having hoop lip rings so I created one of those as well.

This is my activist piece, No Means No. It is about rape. This is a hard subject to talk about. I wanted to tell the stories of victims from every side; boy, girl, young, old. It can happen to anyone. I chose the words for these posters for a specific reason. The poster that says "Do you really think I wanted it?" was put into the piece because I hear, very often, that the person wanted it or liked it. Nobody likes or wants to be forced into ANYTHING. I chose a little girl to represent this victim because I think it is more powerful. The poster that says "It's never the victims fault." was chosen because I often hear, "They were asking for it." "Look what they're wearing." "What did they expect?" People don't want this. They don't put something on that you consider "slutty" for this to happen to them. No means no.
